The latest third-party game for the Nintendo Switch has officially released and it’s aiming to bring survival horror to this hybrid system. Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2 are third-person action/survival horror titles that follow several of the franchises most iconic characters. Both games offer a solid offline and online component for players to enjoy. However, for those looking to make use of their amiibos then you’ll want to focus on the online section of both Resident Evil Revelations games.
Raid mode is a solo or cooperative experience tasks players with navigating dangerous stages, slaying increasingly more difficult foes, and making it to the end of the map. Each game offers a plethora of stages, weapons, perks, and equipment you can use to turn the tide of battle. However, it should be noted that Resident Evil Revelations 2 has the better and ultimately more fleshed out version of this multiplayer portion. Many of these items need to be purchased with the in-game currency known as BP, which is where the amiibos come in.
Instead if unlocking extra costumes or unique items, every amiibo will give a random amount of BP points to users. While this might seem underwhelming at first, the extra BP points can actually give players a rather significant advantage. The amount of BP points an amiibo offers is never consistent and can range anywhere from 1,000 to around 7,000. There is no limit on how many amiibos you can use at once, however, there is a waiting period if you want to use the same one multiple times.
To actually use an amiibo, first go back to the main menu and then hit the Options button to bring up a sub-menu. From here select the amiibo icon and then use whichever figure you want to obtain some extra BP. You won’t need to reload this menu everytime you want to use a new one, just place another amiibo on the right joystick once you’ve obtained your BP points. Anything you earn will instantly be added to your BP count for Raids. None of these points can be used in the single-player mode, so don’t fret if you don’t own any amiibos and only want to play the campaigns.
For what to actually spend your BP points on, we highly recommend focusing on weapons for Resident Evil Revelations first. Unlike Resident Evil Revelations 2, the original doesn’t offer a ton of great weapons right from the start. Because of this, purchase a few different guns that suit your playstyle better such as the shotgun or sniper rifle. To actually spend this BP points simply scroll over to the Store section and select what item you wish to purchase. As for Resident Evil Revelations 2, we recommend focusing on specific upgrades like increasing your ammo capacity or expanding your specific weapons storage.
Additionally, consider purchasing the Rare Finder perks to give you a better chance at obtaining high-level weapon records. Don’t waste your extra BP points on weapons early on, as the game will offer a bunch of really useful Level 10 items like the Magnum. Just use those and save your BP points for additional consumables. If you are serious about rising through the ranks in either Resident Evil Revelations game then make sure to use your amiibos everyday.
