Paris Games Week: Xbox One PUBG Stream Recap

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) is one of the most popular and beloved multiplayer games this generation. A lot of this is thanks to the gripping gameplay that forces 100 players to fight to the death. With only one life, PUBG produces an anxiety and exhilarating experience that many multiplayer games fail to replicate. Originally released for the PC, developer BlueHole Studio has decided to bring their competitive action game to the Xbox One.

Up until recently, details have been rather scarce, but thankfully Microsoft decided to host a special PUBG stream at Paris Games Week. Here are all the details in case you missed the stream earlier today:

During the stream, BlueHole explained that PUBG will be coming to Xbox One’s Game Preview program. Much like Steam’s Early Access, this component will allow BlueHole to work directly with the community during this game’s development. We also know that both of the builds for Xbox One and PC will be different at first, but eventually, BlueHole aims to have both games in the same state.

Nothing will be cut in the Xbox One version of PUBG and you can play the PC version with a controller. 4K is aimed to come later, but we can confirm that singles, duos, and squads will all be available during the Game Preview build of the game. We can also confirm that the upcoming desert map will come to Game Preview after the maps’ bugs have been ironed out on the PC version.

We will continuously update this piece as new information is given.
