In a statement released on Tuesday, Olivia Newton-John announced that she has postponed some of her summer shows. She had been suffering some back discomfort and recently found out that her breast cancer had returned (she was first diagnosed in the late 80s).
“Olivia Newton-John is reluctantly postponing her June U.S. and Canadian concert tour dates. The back pain that initially caused her to postpone the first half of her concert tour, has turned out to be breast cancer that has metastasized to the sacrum,” the statement read in part.
She will undergo photon radiation therapy treatment in the coming weeks. The statement reveals that she is confident that she will be returning.
“I decided on my direction of therapies after consultation with my doctors and natural therapists and the medical team at my Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre in Melbourne, Australia,” Olivia Newton-John said.
