A woman who once worked for Charlie Rose says that the broadcaster would regularly walk around his home naked in front of her. That, and other allegations, appeared in a bombshell Washington Post report on November 20. In the article, Kyle Godfrey-Ryan, described working from Rose’s home while he strolled around naked. Godfrey-Ryan also said that Rose called her more than once to tell her about his fantasy of seeing her swim naked in his swimming pool. Godfrey-Ryan is one of two women who allowed themselves to be named in article. In total, eight women have made allegations against Rose. The other woman named was Megan Crydt who says that Rose grabbed her thigh during a car ride.

1. Godfrey-Ryan Says that When She Reported Rose, His Producer Said: ‘That’s Just Charlie Being Charlie’
Godfrey-Ryan told the Washington Post that after her encounters with Rose, she went to his longtime producer, Yvette Vega. Godfrey-Ryan says that Vega told her, “That’s just Charlie being Charlie.”
According to her LinkedIn page, Godfrey-Ryan worked for Rose as an assistant between 2003 and 2004. Godfrey-Ryan told the Post, “It feels branded into me, the details of it.”
While Vega is quoted in the Post article as being remorseful for not doing more for women who came to her with complaints about Rose. Vega said, “I should have stood up for them. I failed. It is crushing. I deeply regret not helping them.” While Godfrey-Ryan says that when Rose found out that she had told someone about his conduct, he fired her. Godfrey-Ryan said of Vegas, “She just made me feel like I was being a dramatic little girl.”
In a seeming pattern of abuse, Godfrey-Ryan says in the Post article that Rose would call her stupid, incompetent and pathetic.” An unnamed person is quoted as saying, “He repeatedly attacked her in front of other people. He once said that because she hadn’t gotten a college degree she would never amount to anything better than his secretary.” Though on other occasions, Godfrey-Ryan says Rose was “conciliatory.” She added that those moments included him touching her and making her uncomfortable. Then Godfrey-Ryan alleges that Rose would call her at 6 a.m., she says, “It would be wanting to know the details of my sex life. ‘Who’s next to you? What do you do? Is he touching you?’ And I was like, Okay, Charlie, I’ll see you tomorrow.’ I just acted like it wasn’t happening.”

I don’t want just the elite to have access.”

3. Godfrey-Ryan’s First Love Was Acting
On her Twitter page, Godfrey-Ryan says she previously ran a company named Conscious Pattern.
According to that same Huffington Post profile, Godfrey-Ryan lives in New York City with her husband and two children. In the Washington Post article, Godfrey-Ryan’s husband told the newspaper that he was present for Charlie Rose’s alleged 6 a.m. phone calls but didn’t know what was said. While her husband also said that Godfrey-Ryan would complain about Rose walking around naked at his home.
On her Instagram page, Godfrey-Ryan describes herself as being the “mama to 2 love warriors.”

5. Rose Has Been Suspended by PBS, CBS & Bloomberg
Rose has been suspended by CBS while both PBS and Bloomberg have said that they will no longer air his interviews. In a statement, Rose didn’t deny the allegations although he did say he felt some of the accusers weren’t “accurate.” Rose said, “It is essential that these women know I hear them and that I deeply apologize for my inappropriate behavior. I am greatly embarrassed. I have behaved insensitively at times, and I accept responsibility for that, though I do not believe that all of these allegations are accurate. I always felt that I was pursuing shared feelings, even though I know realize I was mistaken.”
