Joy Anna Duggar’s Wedding to Husband Austin Forsyth on ‘Counting On’

31

Throughout this season of Counting on, viewers have seen Joy Anna Duggar’s road to the altar with husband Austin Forsyth and tonight, the wedding is finally shown. Prior to tying the knot in May 2017, Forsyth presented his bride with a shadow box that had all of the flowers he’s given her throughout their relationship, along with a sweet letter he had written. According to the Inquistr, the wedding was originally scheduled for October 2017, but it was moved to May, which led to speculation that Duggar might be pregnant. So, when baby news broke in August 2017, it seems that this could be a possibility. Or, perhaps the couple just wanted to move up the wedding to have it in the springtime. Any rumors of a shotgun wedding have been shot down.

Duggar, 19, and Forsyth, 23, carried on a respectful courtship prior to marrying. They were not even allowed to hold hands until they became engaged.

Now, the couple is husband and wife. Check out the best photos from their wedding day below.

Duggar announced the couple’s baby news via Instagram with this as a caption:

Austin and I are SO thankful to announce that we are parents!! Even before we were married we prayed that God would give us children and we are so blessed that he has given us this baby! Jesus is the giver of Life! The baby has arms, legs, fingers, and toes. It has a beating heart and brain waves. The baby responds to touch and is already right- or left-handed. The baby has its own unique fingerprints, which are different from anyone else’s. All organ systems are in place!

She then wrote:

Psalm 139:13-16 “For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.” This passage indicates that God Himself formed our physical features and that He did so with a wonderful plan for our lives. God knew us in the womb.

Both Forsyth and Duggar were nervous on their wedding day and Duggar told the cameras:

I was breathing hard, trying not to cry. All these emotions going through me, my whole life is changing.

Duggar’s father Jim-Bob walked her down the aisle.

Counting On isn’t the first reality show that Forsyth has been on in his life. In Touch Weekly previously reported that in 2009, he and his parents were featured as a host family on the show World’s Strictest Parents.

The Hollywood Gossip has reported that not all of the Duggar family members may be fans of Forsyth, Joy’s sister-in-law Anna in particular. A source revealed:

There has been a lot of talk about the character of her new husband Austin … He was more of a rebel child.

According to The Hollywood Gossip, the couple exchanged their vows in Arkansas in front of 1,000 people. Originally, the wedding date was October 28, 2017, which is Duggar’s birthday as well.

The couple met when Forsyth moved to the area and started attending the same church as the family. According to In Touch Weekly, the two knew each other from the time they were toddlers. He went on to have a three-month engagement with Duggar before the couple tied the knot.

Like the Duggars, Forsyth’s parents believe in waiting to kiss and to have sex before marriage. They also reportedly have Forsyth work at the Fort Rock Christian Family Camp and Retreat Center, which is the family camp.
