Joseph Boston, of Riverside, California, was arrested after police say he admitted to molesting “upwards of 50 children” over the span of approximately eight years.

The story unfolded after the suspect was staying at a motel where authorities say he sexually abused two children, then confessed those crimes to his mother before he was taken into custody.

While many are calling for the harshest possible punishment, others are sympathizing with the man, citing that something had to have been extremely wrong with him to act so deviant at such a young age.
