Ford Stamping Plant Shooting in Woodhaven; One Person Dead

One person is dead after shots were fired on the second floor of a Ford stamping plant in Michigan. The attack occurred on the morning of October 20 in Woodhaven, just south of Detroit. Click on Detroit reports that no other injuries are suspected.

The incident is being investigated by the Michigan State Police.

The building is being evacuated by authorities who also say that there is no further threat. Police sources had told ABC Detroit that the “situation is neutralized.” The station later reported that the bomb squad was on scene to investigate a suspicious item close to the body of the shooter.

According to Ford’s corporate website, the plant was opened in 1964, covers 360 acres and employs 420. The plant works door panels, floor pans, hoods, quarter panels, roofs, tailgates and truck body slides.
