Dodgers won’t fall into 0-3 hole

Suspicious package in front of Stitches’ home. First responders arrived quickly, opened the package, which had no return address, only to find a book entitled, “Handicapping for Dummies.” I asked if this would be considered an act of terror, but they simply told me “start reading.”

California dreamin’. Dodgers come home after dropping both games at frosty Fenway where their starting pitchers took a verbal pounding warming up in the bullpen. Walker Buehler will have no such problem pitching in front of a warm crowd and in even warmer temperatures. He will be responsible for keeping the Dodgers from the inescapable 0-3 abyss. And he’s the right man for the job.

Buehler came up big in Game 7 of the NLCS, striking out seven in 4 ²/₃ innings while allowing one run. Rick Porcello takes his turn for the Sox and it will be the nine-year veteran’s first World Series start. In four postseason appearances he’s 1-0 with an ERA of 4.22.

Can LA sweep all three at home? Keep dreaming. But 20 units says the Dodgers get back in it. For now.

Miami picked a bad time to mess with Texas. Houston won its fifth in a row, beating the Dolphins handily 42-23. Late winning streak cuts our season long debt to -615 pastorinis.
